This is my second book by this author and I really enjoyed it. The book moved a little slow at times but it was very relaxing as well. Had a very easy flow to it.
Each chapter ended on an exclamation point - that was very annoying and I felt like I was always excited. The writing was ok, but still needs some work to get the amount of depth necessary to be a good book. Braxton was one dimensional and I don't think you got the best read on him. Lena...she was very meh.
Now, the end...***Spoilers***... There is no way in this world, no reason, no excuse, that someone should take someone back just like that, because he lost his family. The dude was so unavailable, he would've stayed unattached. One look at his new daughter, one break down with talking about his past and bam he is all in. Seriously - that doesn't even make sense. They were together over 4 years and she didn't know about his past? That's exactly why she did it all alone.
I really like Lena & Braxton love story. At times in the book I wanted to slap Lena and run Braxton over for being stubborn and not just telling Lena what his fears where. This book did have me on an up and down roller coaster of emotions, but in all it was an enjoyable read. Keep up the good work!!! New fan
Well developed characters, really good story. The storyline could have been deepened just a tad,but overall this doesn't take away from the book. What stops this book from getting a 5 star rating in my opinion,is lack of proof reading!! Simple mistakes like the use of clinched instead of clenched, missing letters , misspelled words etc are just not acceptable. If you are an English major or a sticker for correct prose, this book might irritate you a little.
Lena and Braxton were the ideal couple in many ways. They shared many of the same interest, and had a connection that bordered on spiritual. Braxton, however did not want children. Four years into the relationship Lena found out she was pregnant with Braxton's baby. A baby he did not want. Would the baby change his mind, or will the baby drive him away? The answer to that question and the conclusion was Dumfounding...
Get ready for an emotional roller coaster! Lena takes the reader on a ride and leaves us begging for more! I laughed and cried. This story is original and relatable, and I loved every minute of it!! I will be looking for more stories from Ms. Scales!!
This was a good refreshing love story. No dope boy, no killers, no crazy hood mess......just pure love, a scared and hurt man, and a woman who wouldn't give up on him.
